NBGC's coaching staff shares a combined 60+ years of gymnastics and coaching experience. All coaches are dedicated to celebrating each gymnast's individual strengths.
Barb is a driven person who feels like her purpose in life is to work with children. As a young child her love was gymnastics, she started gymnastics at age 10, at the age of 14 won a JO national title. She loved being on her high school team and finished out her gymnastics career at the U of M. After enjoying gymnastics for so many years she wanted nothing more than to share that love with children. Barb says, " I have the best job anyone can ask for, being with children and sharing my passion with them. I am blessed to be able to do this."
I was hired on by Barb when I was 17 working with Developmental and competitive team kids for 10 years. For the next 18 years I worked for various clubs in the area coaching competitive teams from level 8 to Elite and National qualifying gymnasts. At the same time i coached at various high schools in the north metro area. In 2003 I was forced to leave coaching due to 3 crushed vertebrae in my neck. I spent 6 months healing after surgery and then started my next life managing medical professionals and clinics. One day in August 2017, I ran into Barb and Bruce at the bank. Needless to say Barb managed to convince me that I missed coaching and should come back and coach for her. So, here I am full circle, year two having a great time with my fabulous team girls and the coaches...I guess Barb was right, I MUST have missed it.
I Started my Gymnastics career at Flyways when I was 4 years old. I then went to a few different places and ended up with Barb in North Branch. She coached me until level 7. Then I decided to continue my Gymnastics career at Chisago Lakes High where I was on the Varsity team. A few years after graduation Barb reached out to me asking if I wanted a coaching position. I have now been coaching rec and team girls for about 4 years. I absolutely love being a coach at No Boundaries, it very rewarding.
I have had the privilege of being a member of the NBGC family for the past two years and what a joy it has been! Not only do I get the opportunity to teach developmental skills to young gymnasts, but also lessons in life. Dedication, patience, persistence, teamwork, friendship and hard work pays off are just a few. The best part of coaching is sharing in the thrill when a student has worked hard and gets a new skill! My background includes teaching Baton Twirling and Tumbling classes since the age of 14 with several Community Education programs. I competed in gymnastics in middle/high school and also have a daughter that is a member of NBGC's competitive. program. I look forward to seeing both new and returning gymnasts along with my "Ninja Boys"!
Began gymnastics at age 3. Loved it and worked hard all the way until I was 22! 5 years as a level 10 JO gymnast. Went on to compete for the Gopher Woman’s gymnastics team from 2002-2006. Since then, I have coached High School gymnastics, team and developmental gymnastics, and choreographed many college, club, and high school floor and beam routines. I love still being apart of such a great sport!
I started gymnastics at Flyaways (under Barbs ownership) when I was just 5 years old. I kept at it through level 7 competition until I moved to middle school competition in Blaine. My gymnastics time had come to an end after falling during warmups and breaking my right knee in multiple places unfortunately. After graduating HS I coached at multiple clubs but nothing ever “fit right” until finally beginning work for my very 1st coach Barb. I have been coaching developmental for barb and no boundaries for going on 5 years now and love every minute of it
I was gymnast for 12 years. I coached at my local park district for 2 years where I coached their developmental and preschool classes. I have been coaching at NBGC for 1 year and I love every minute of it.
